Ann Vaughan is the Deputy Assistant Administrator for USAID’s Bureau for Resilience, Environment, and Food Security (REFS), where she contributes to the Feed the Future initiative and oversees the REFS Center for Agriculture-led Growth and other critical offices. Joining USAID in 2021 as Senior Advisor for Climate Change, Ann has played a pivotal role in elevating USAID’s leadership in climate-smart agricultural innovation and addressing food loss and waste. She co-leads PREPARE, aiding communities to manage climate change impacts. With roots in food and nutrition security, Ann served in Nicaragua as a Peace Corps Volunteer, on SFOPS Chairwoman Nita Lowey’s staff, and led advocacy at Mercy Corps. A champion for resilience and marginalized communities, she holds a master’s from George Washington University and a bachelor’s from the College of William and Mary.
