Beyond Capital: Using Gender-Inclusive Job Skills Training and Worker Cooperatives to Support Entrepreneurship

Dorothy Tindi Sitati is a Program Officer overseeing collaboration learning and adaptation initiatives for the USAID funded CLEAR+ Project (Cooperative Leadership Engagement Advocacy and Research) in Kenya, implemented by Global Communities. In her role she designs and implements strategies to encourage effective collaboration, document lessons learned, and foster a culture of continuous learning and adapting. Tindi is committed to advancing collaborative spaces for youth in entrepreneurship, particularly within worker cooperative start-up businesses and facilitating networking opportunities. She has offered mentorship to youth in business, focusing on best practices in marketing and communication through the OYA Idea App Program by Bridge for Billions. Currently, she serves as a mentor in the Comms Mentoring Programme (CMP), for linking senior and younger professionals in the African communications industry. Tindi worked with the Green Belt Movement (an initiative of the late Nobel Laureate and Environmentalist, Wangari Maathai) to advance women's roles in clean energy entrepreneurship. Currently, she is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Development Studies at St. Paul’s University in Kenya.
