Towards a Youth Inclusive Green Economy: Levers of Change
Houyame Hakmi is an influential peace and security enthusiast, PhD candidate at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, and intern at the African Union’s Peace Support Operations Division. Her research focuses on the African Union’s conflict prevention strategies, aiming to foster stability across Africa through policy analysis and strategic initiatives. As a committed environmental advocate, Hakmi has represented Moroccan youth at COP26, COP27, and COP28, and the UN Water Conference. She’s an official youth delegate, recognized for her dedication to climate change and sustainable practices. Hakmi’s leadership extends to founding Union Marocaine des Jeunes Leaders and Green Universities for Sustainability, and co-founding the Moroccan Youth Negotiators Council. She empowers young leaders to influence global environmental policies, integrating peace, security, and sustainability into a strategy for progressive change through youth engagement and international collaboration.
