Building Pathways: Catalyzing Youth Economic Opportunities With and For Refugees
Janice Bothello is currently the Kenya Country Director for World University Service of Canada, where she also serves as the Project Director for the Displaced and Refugee youth Enabling Environment Mechanism (DREEM) project, which is a Mastercard Foundation-funded initiative aimed at enhancing employment, higher education and entrepreneurship pathways for refugee youth. Previously, she worked with the Refugee Hub at the University of Ottawa where she was the Senior Program Manager for the Global Refugee Sponsorship Initiative. Janice worked also with Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA) as their country project director in Jordan, and as Associate Director of Programs for the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) in Mozambique. Janice holds an HBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University in Canada and an MSc in Population and Development from the London School of Economics. Her areas of interest include forced displacement, market systems development, and economic empowerment of women and youth.
