Joshua Amponsem is Co-Director, Youth Climate Justice Fund. He is a climate advocate who focuses on climate change adaptation, circular economy, and disaster risk management. With over 8 years of experience in program management and organizational development, he empowers institutions to collaborate with young people in advancing climate action. Joshua advised on the design of the inaugural UN Youth Climate Summit and contributed to the first-ever IRENA Youth Forum. He authored ‘Adapt for Our Future,’ a groundbreaking paper on youth and climate adaptation, and led global consultations resulting in the Global Youth Call to Action on Adaptation, presented to world leaders at the Climate Adaptation Summit 2021. As the founder of the Green Africa Youth Organization (GAYO), Joshua establishes Youth Climate Councils across the Global South, redirecting philanthropy to locally-led youth movements. His pioneering work includes community-led zero waste projects in Ghana, promoting resilience, green jobs, and circular economy principles in agriculture and food systems. Previously, Joshua served as a Business Development Manager and Lead Environmental Consultant at Challenges Group Ghana, supporting over 100 green enterprises.
