It’s Not Too Late: Building Blocks for Intersectional Inclusion in Youth Economic Opportunities

Maria Jose is a distinguished young professional with experience in coordinating social and economic development projects. She holds a degree in International Relations and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in social development. Since 2021, she has been actively involved in strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Honduras, working closely with chambers of commerce, incubators, and other key stakeholders. Currently, she serves as an Entrepreneurship Specialist for the USAID funded Transforming Market Systems Activity, implemented by ACDIVOCA, where she plays an integral role in fostering systemic changes within the entrepreneurial ecosystem. In this role, she has coordinated projects aimed at creating improved economic opportunities for vulnerable populations. Furthermore, volunteerism is a fundamental aspect of her life. In 2020, Maria Jose co-founded Sustenta Honduras, a youth organization dedicated to mitigating the effects of climate change in Honduras.
