Matthew Witting joined Creative’s Transitions Practice Area in 2021 as the Start-up Team Lead and, eventually, Project Director of the OTI West Africa Littorals Regional Initiative (LRI). He has more than 20 years of experience in project management, operations, grants, and program design. He specializes in civil society capacity building, local governance, resilience, and disaster response programming in conflict and post-conflict areas. Matt has served as a Senior Project Manager and occasional Contracts and Grants Administrator for 20+ USAID, UN, and State Department/INL-funded contracts and grants. His long-term field positions include Chief of Party, Deputy Chief of Party, and Operations roles in Lebanon, eastern DRC, South Sudan, and Haiti. He has extensive experience on the ground in Lebanon, Morocco, Mali, Burkina Faso, South Sudan, Kenya, Ethiopia, DRC, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Haiti, Romania, and Colombia, as well as more broadly in the Sahel and West Africa.
