Youth Rights at Work: US Department of Labor Session

Ms. Sunderlin Simpson has over 15 years of experience designing and managing projects that focus on strengthening education and employment related skills training for out of school youth, former child soldiers, and youth that face life challenges impeding their opportunity to thrive economically and socially. Her expertise includes developing strategies for adolescent girls 15-17 years and developing tools to safeguard women and their families starting or expanding businesses in rural areas to mitigate poverty, diversify income and reduce reliance on child labor. In addition, working with governments and companies to address policy gaps on labor rights and inequitable supply chains.

 

Ms. Sunderlin Simpson currently serves as a Senior International Relations Officer and Project Manager for the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Child Labor, Forced Labor, and Human Trafficking (OCFT) where she manages technical assistance projects focused on strengthening action to eliminate child labor, forced labor, and human trafficking, globally with specific expertise in Africa. Project efforts include building public/private partnerships for safe and equitable supply chains, improving the capacity of governments to address labor rights violations, and providing skills training and economic strengthen interventions for adults and youth to improve safe, age appropriate, decent work opportunities
